An Evening of Jazz in Johnson City

Johnson City Jazz Fest will take place Saturday, October. 24 starting at 5 p.m. in downtown Memorial Park. Admission is FREE for evening of al fresco musical entertainment.

The Adrian Ruiz Quintet will take the stage at 5 p.m.
Adrian Ruiz has established a reputation in Texas and beyond as a powerful, creative, and versatile trumpeter. He is also known as one of the most effective bandleaders and most consistently exciting soloists in both the Austin and San Antonio scenes. Ruiz has received a Grammy nomination in the Best Contemporary Blues Album category for Live at the Paramount with the Ruthie Foster Big Band.
Jerry Z Trio
The Jerry Z Trio will take the stage at 6:30 p.m.
New to Austin, Jerry Z is a Hammond B3 organist and composer known for soulful grooves, fiery solos and his unique, innovative approach to jazz/blues/funk. Jerry has been a sought after collaborator and performer in the New York jazz scene, contributing his unique Hammond B3 sound to some of New York’s most influential and groundbreaking bands. As a bandleader, he has been a fixture in the NYC jazz scene and toured globally with his trio.
Elena Diaz with Daniel Durham Quintet
Elena Diaz with Daniel Durham Quintet will take the Jazz Fest stage at 8 p.m.
Elena Diaz is a vocalist and musician from Houston, Texas, known for her rich voiceand her ability to sing in multiple languages. Native Austinite Daniel Durham has been performing on stage for 25 years. His unique harmonic sensibility, intricate knowledge of many world rhythms and keen sense of melody allow Daniel to fit into to any musical situation.
