Johnson City Wildflower Festival Featured on KXAN News  
Celebrating Texas wildflowers in the Hill Country is more exciting at the Johnson City Wildflower Festival. Learn more about the April 2025 event.

Spring wildflowers are blooming, and Johnson City is at the heart of the Hill Country’s wildflower season in more ways than one.  

KXAN Austin featured the Johnson City Wildflower Festival (April 5 and 6, 2025), highlighting the beauty of the wildflowers and the strong community connections in Johnson City. Wildflower Festival organizer Melissa Broughton was featured in the segment and shared the effort that has gone int organizing the inaugural event, including bringing in 20 vendors for the festival and organizing a sip-and-paint event with festival partner Farmhouse Vineyards

The festival will also include a keynote presentation event with Dennis Fagan,  principal photographer for Lady Bird Johnson. Mr. Fagan was included in the newscast and highlighted his relationship with Mrs. Johnson and their work together throughout the Texas Hill Country and beyond. He will speak at the Science Mill and share his experiences working with Mrs. Johnson on her wildflower research and conservation efforts.
