Built in 1936 to commemorate Texas’ centennial, this historic gem boasts a unique construction blend of petrified wood, sandstone, limestone, quartz, and granite. Situated on a fully fenced corner lot, Pecan Cottage preserves its timeless exterior design.
The space
Pecan Cottage features an expansive open-concept living area, boasting a fully equipped kitchen with top-of-the-line amenities, including a built-in gourmet knife and utensil cabinet, a corner lazy-Susan, and a Marshall Stanmore II wireless Bluetooth speaker. The family space offers a cozy atmosphere with a sectional sofa, leather chair with ottoman, and a 65-inch mounted TV, complemented by the original working log burning fireplace.
The cottage comprises two bedrooms, each furnished with a queen bed, ample storage, bedside tables, and lamps. The front bedroom includes a chaise lounge and large windows overlooking the front and side yards, while the back bedroom features a six-drawer dresser and a walk-in closet with a wine fridge. The hallway connecting the bedrooms houses a full-sized bathroom with an oversized walk-in shower and additional storage.
The laundry room off the kitchen provides convenience with a brand new full-sized washer and dryer, water softener, built-in cabinets, and essential appliances. Outside, the fenced backyard offers a wood-burning firepit, Adirondack chairs, string lights, and a large reclaimed wood picnic table, perfect for outdoor gatherings. Additionally, guests can enjoy seasonal amenities such as a hammock under the giant oak tree and access to lawn chairs, an ice chest, and a wagon stored in the backyard shed.
The covered front porch provides a charming space with reclaimed wood Adirondack chairs and a small table, ideal for enjoying morning coffee, afternoon conversations, or evening relaxation.
Guest access
We strive to accommodate early and late check-ins/check-outs whenever possible. Additionally, the cottage provides high-speed, password-protected WiFi for guests’ convenience.
Other things to note
PET POLICY – Up to 2 pets (dogs) may be permitted, with written approval from homeowner. All animals must be housetrained and kept off of furniture (couch, bed, chaise).
Additional cleaning fee is $75 per stay. Dogs must be less than 50 pounds.
Restricted dog breeds include: Akita, American Pit Bull Terrier, Chow, Doberman Pinscher, Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
